  • Medi-Cal
    • Medi-Cal is California's Medicaid health care program. This program pays for a variety of medical services for children and adults with limited income and resources. Medi-Cal is supported by federal and state taxes.
    • *Remember, Medi-Cal is automatically awarded when young adult is found eligible for SSI.  You do not need to apply separately if you have applied for SSI.

  • In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)
    • The In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program provides in-home assistance to eligible aged, blind, and disabled individuals as an alternative to out-of-home care and enables recipients to remain safely in their own homes.
    • Requirements:
      • Person must  be a California resident.
      • Person must have a Medi-Cal eligibility determination.
      • Person must live at home
      • A completed Health Care Certification (SOC 873) must be received by the county prior to authorization of services.
