World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is celebrated on the 21st day of March to honor and share our love for those living with Down syndrome. WDSD is a day when self-advocates and their families, friends, coworkers, and supporters organize and participate in activities to raise awareness, advocate and promote inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome. World Down Syndrome Day occurs on the 21st day of the third month (3.21) each year, selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome.

There are many ways to learn about World Down Syndrome Day. We have created a kit to help with awareness and activities to help you celebrate in the classroom. The PDF includes facts about Down syndrome, resources and classroom activities geared toward kids in elementary school. The kits teach students about Down syndrome, but more importantly, they include lessons on diversity, inclusion, kindness and acceptance.
