  • This presentation explores what it means to live with both Down syndrome and Autism spectrum disorder—a combination often referred to as a dual diagnosis. While each condition has its own characteristics, together they create a unique developmental profile that requires tailored understanding and support.

Participants will learn how to recognize behaviors and signs that may indicate autism in children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome. The presentation also provides guidance on what steps to take if autism is suspected, how a DS-ASD diagnosis is made, and how to access specialized supports and services.
