Evidence-Based Strategies to Support Early Speech and Language Development
Riley and Jillian will illustrate research-based strategies for supporting early communication development for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with Down syndrome. They will emphasize appropriate approaches based on the developmental skill profile typically seen in children with Down syndrome, combined with the unique strengths, skills, and interests of the individual.

SPEAKER BIOS -
JILLIAN BALDWIN:
Jillian is a registered Speech and Language Pathologist with the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation in Burnaby, BC, Canada. She specializes in working with individuals with Down syndrome of all ages, with experience providing one-to-one therapy, facilitating groups and classes, and presenting at workshops and conferences. Jillian completed her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of British Columbia and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan.
RILEY ROSEBUSH:
Riley completed her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at UBC and began working at DSRF in 2012. She is passionate about supporting individuals and families at DSRF to develop their communication and feeding skills. She believes in the benefits of diversity in the community and helping people to participate in any activity they enjoy.
