CLASSES
Who: Club 21 Members, ages 10+, capacity of 12 per class, 1st come – 1st served
Where: Club 21 Learning and Resource Center, 539 N Lake Ave, Pasadena, CA 91101
What: Each session includes three (3) days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) of two and half (2.5 hours) of programming. Each day includes two (2) hours of class time, plus thirty (30) minutes of supervised break and snack.
Cost: $225/session
Facilitators: Jessica Bulgin and Jen Murphy are energetic, creative and hardworking credentialed teachers who are currently both teaching in the San Marino School District. They have their Masters in Education with a minimum of 12+ years experience each.
Class Descriptions:
Emerging Artists: Our Emerging Artists class will explore different media and techniques to create at least three unique works of art, while strengthening visual motor and fine motor skills and developing their individual creative expression.
Emerging Chefs: Our Emerging Chefs will expand their palates and learn how to appreciate new flavors, while learning new recipes and culinary skills and integrating kitchen safety and incidental teaching to help young chefs become an active participant in the family kitchen and build their skills towards independence. By the end of the session, students will publish our own personalized cookbook!
GAMES: Our GAMES (Games, A Math Education Strategy) class offers students the opportunity to deepen their mathematical conceptual understanding and practice their mathematical skills in fun, meaningful, and social game play in large group, small group, and 1-on-1, under the tutelage of a certified teacher.
STEM: This hands-on and heads-on class will challenge students as they design and create integrated science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) projects, providing students opportunities to strengthen problem solving skills.
Book Club:
The Art of Reading: Each week, the seminar will begin with a whole group introduction to the afternoon’s theme, emphasizing specific vocabulary and core concepts. Then, students will be matched up with a peer facilitator/reading buddy; together they will read thematic children’s literature and follow up with a thematic “craftivity.”

Cost: $180 for all 4 Tuesdays
